What Is the Acetaminophen Lawsuit?

There are multiple lawsuits pending against McNeil Consumer Healthcare and its parent company, Johnson & Johnson. These two companies make Tylenol, the brand name version of acetaminophen. In 2019, researchers at Johns Hopkins University published a study that examined data from a 20-year study by the Boston Birth Cohort. They reviewed data about the umbilical cord blood samples of children whose mothers took acetaminophen during pregnancy. They found that the children whose samples contained the highest levels of acetaminophen were about three times more likely to later develop ADHD or an autism spectrum disorder.
